On October 28, 2019, Mrs. Schmitt completed the certification for the Six Sigma Black Belt with a successful presentation of her project results.

The theoretical qualification already took place in December 2018 under the guidance of Dr. Dietmar Stemann (mts Consulting Partner) in a 10-day advanced training course. Besides the methodical Six Sigma contents, the focus was also on project management, team leadership and change management.

The second part of the certification is the independent implementation of an improvement project. This was carried out by Mrs. Schmitt at Miele & Cie. KG at the Gütersloh site with further support from Mrs. Martina Ringeln, Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Head of Series Maintenance and Deputy Head of Quality Management. Under the title "Statistical process assurance by using Six Sigma and Data Analytics methods" selected Six Sigma methods as well as Data Mining procedures were used to identify and verify quality-relevant influencing factors in the production process.

The certification to the Six Sigma Black Belt represents a substantial milestone in the Six Sigma topic area at the institute of production systems. In particular the connection of the Six Sigma beginning with new approaches of the Data Mining represents a current research and development emphasis of the work of the institute.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our cooperation partners for their competent support and good cooperation and look forward to future joint projects.
