ReProInPlan
Reference Process for Integrated Production Planning -
Preparation of the Standardisation of Information Flows and Planning Indicators (ReProInPlan)
(Project duration: October 2013 to September 2015; project processing is carried out by RIF e.V., Department of Work and Production Systems)
Problem
The day-to-day planning of manufacturing companies currently involves a large number of planning tasks that are not clearly defined and often not clearly structured. This leads to inefficient planning processes with redundant operations, duplication of work, transmission errors and incomplete information, to name just a few deficits of this way of working. In summary, it can be seen that the described challenges in the product development process result from insufficient coordination and documentation, as well as from a not clearly defined transfer of information to other areas of responsibility. There is often a lack of cross-company, generally applicable standards that regulate the process and cooperation in product creation. This applies not only to the planning processes themselves, but also to the necessary information flows and relevant control variables (e.g. performance measurement systems).
Objective
The aim of the joint project is to introduce a generalised planning indicator survey and a prioritised information flow visualisation into the production planning process as a draft standard. Both topics are to flank the reference planning process standardised in the national VDMA standard sheet 66421 and together result in a standard basis for the publication of a PAS (Publicly Available Specification), a TS (Technical Specification), a TR (Technical Report) or an IS (International Standard).
Procedure
These concern the supporting necessity of defining planning indicators and essential information flows within the reference planning process. The development of a standard basis for an ISO deliverable defined in the objective has the great potential to position a scientifically mature issue developed in the national environment at the international level. The associated international pioneering role enables Germany as a national location to develop a knowledge and market advantage, which represents a clear strengthening in the global competition.
