Michelle Henkies graduated with a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences and Arts and subsequently completed her Master's degree at the Technical University of Dortmund. During her studies, she gained practical experience as a working student at an automotive supplier. She later supported the Institute for Production Systems at TU Dortmund University as a student assistant, in particular the Smart Quality department. Today, she works as a research assistant in the same department and focuses on innovative approaches to quality optimization in production.
