HAawAI research project enters final phase

The HAawAI research project is nearing its conclusion: Following a brief meeting of the project committee on January 21, the final phase of the project is now beginning. Over the next two months until the final project meeting on 20.03.2025, the results developed in the project will be brought together to form a holistic concept.

“HAawAI” stands for human-centered execution analysis of manual motion sequences using motion capturing and artificial intelligence. The project supports the implementation of time and ergonomics studies based on video data using machine learning. (Partial) automation of the studies ensures that they can be carried out much more quickly and easily. This makes it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular, which often lack in-depth expertise in ergonomic methods, to access the relevant analyses. The reduced effort also allows a more detailed examination of existing manual processes and uncovers potential for improvement and optimization - an important contribution to securing long-term competitiveness.

The research results are developed in cooperation between the RIF Institut für Forschung und Transfer e. V. and the MTM ASSOCIATION e. V.. The research institutions are supported by a committee with members from industry, associations and organizations. This committee ensures that the results are suitable for practical application and provides support in the form of advice, practical application, validation and the provision of data. Special thanks go to the companies involved for their interest and commitment, which has made a significant contribution to the success of the project. In addition to the practical transfer to industry, e.g. as part of the MTM SUMMIT 2024 in Hamburg, the results were made available to the scientific community through publications.

The final HAawAI project meeting will take place on 20 March 2025 in Dortmund. The program includes a review of the course of the project, the presentation of the final results and an outlook on possible follow-up projects. We appreciate your interest in the project and would be happy to enable you to attend the project meeting. If you have any further questions about HAawAI, please contact Steffen Jansing or visit our project homepage.
