As part of the IGF research project MODKMU of our partner institute RIF e. V., Lucas Polley and David Wagstyl visited Oscar Frech GmbH & Co. KG in Plüderhausen.

The aim of the MODKMU research project is to develop a decision-making aid for selecting a suitable organizational principle for production. As a tool and plant manufacturer in the die casting sector, Oskar Frech GmbH & Co. KG contributes valuable application-oriented perspectives and is actively involved in the project advisory committee.

The focus of the visit was the exchange on requirements and framework conditions that should be taken into account in the development of the selection system. Together with Patrick Marks and Philipp Mundl, the special features of plant construction were highlighted. This included an analysis of the current organizational structure and the identification of relevant influencing factors and target values. The current production organization at Frech - a specifically adapted form of flow-oriented production - shows how important qualified and flexibly deployable employees are for the success of individual organizational solutions.

In the next step, the knowledge gained will be integrated into the project's catalog of criteria and further developed in collaboration with other project partners.

We would like to thank Oskar Frech GmbH & Co. KG for the valuable open exchange and hospitality!
