Review of the UK Roadshow: BeverGreen presents the Green Digital Twin for the Process Industry

In September 2025, RIF e. V. participated in the “International Roadshow 2025 – UK”, organized by the Forum Digitale Technologien. In London and Birmingham, the team introduced the BeverGreen project to international representatives from industry and academia. The aim of the roadshow was to showcase innovative GreenTech solutions on an international stage and to strengthen cross-border exchange on digitalization, sustainability, and data-driven production approaches.
The journey included several stops, such as the Sustainable Ventures Hub in East London, the I-Hub at Imperial College in West London, the University of Birmingham, and the ESS Expo in Birmingham. The roadshow was held under the overarching theme of GreenTech and circular economy.
At the center of the presentation was the Green Digital Twin developed within the BeverGreen project. It integrates process, product, and energy data and makes their interdependencies transparent and analyzable. The approach demonstrates how digital twins can serve as a foundation for data-driven decision-making, improved energy efficiency, and more sustainable production processes — particularly in the beverage and brewing industry.
In addition to the project presentations, the roadshow provided numerous opportunities for professional exchange with companies and research institutions from the United Kingdom as well as other GreenTech initiatives. Discussions addressed strategies for CO₂ reduction, methods for visualizing and optimizing energy flows, and future requirements for a Digital Product Passport.
