Florian Hoffmann, M.Sc.

About the Person

Florian Hoffmann, M.Sc., is a research associate at the Institute of Production Systems in the Production System Dynamics department. Previously, he studied mechanical engineering at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, majoring in automation technology. In addition to working on research and industrial projects, public relations is one of his tasks at the IPS.


Research

  • Development of a modular, open Internet platform with engineering functions for planning automation solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises
  • Development of a process model for unit-dependent assembly lines in electric charging column production

Teaching

  • Supervision of project and final theses
  • Execution of lectures of the IPS
  • Execution of tutorials to the lectures of the IPS

Industry

  • Buffer design using discrete event simulations to determine optimal buffer strategies
  • Production control of production lines in serial production
  • Efficiency management in the area of equipment effectiveness of production systems
